Dr. Shuhua Zhou is a Chair Professor in the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong. He previously served as the Leonard H. Goldenson Professor in Radio and Television Journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism and was a professor and associate dean for graduate studies at the University of Alabama. He is the Editor of BEA’s Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, an Associate Editor of Communication & Society, and a Senior Editor of Computers in Human Behavior.
Dr. Zhou currently serves as Vice President of the Asian-Pacific Communication Alliance (2018–2026) and is a former President of the Chinese Communication Association (2017–2019). In recognition of his professional work as an anchor and director of the English News program at GDTV, he was named one of the 100 Best TV Hosts. His primary research focuses on television news and human cognition of mediated messages.
