Throughout a 23 year broadcasting career and now 24 years in academia, Connelly has always maintained a keen interest in production. He is a five-time recipient of the Broadcast Education Association’s Best of Competition Award and a five-time recipient of the Best of Festival Charles and Lucille King Family Foundation Award. Connelly’s work in radio production has also earned him a prestigious Gabriel Award from the Catholic Academy of Communication Arts Professionals. Connelly is a Society of Broadcast Engineers certified radio operator and holds the highest level of professional certification from the Radio Advertising Bureau, certified radio marketing expert. He is also a certified digital marketing consultant. He is the author of Digital Radio Production, Fourth Edition, a college textbook. Above all he said his greatest satisfaction and reward as a faculty member is seeing his students excel as they start their professional careers in some of the top markets in the country.
