Richard (“Rick”) Grunberg remains an active and influential figure in the production and advanced education community, with more than thirty years of experience as an award-winning creative and technical professional. His academic background includes studies in Engineering, a BA from the RTA School of Media, and an MA in Communication and Culture.
Rick’s career spans still photography, cinematography, and technical production. He has worked extensively as a Director of Photography, Technical Producer, and technology consultant, contributing to the design and implementation of studio and mobile production systems. He is also a founding member and former Vice President of one of Canada’s most successful television production and facilities companies of its time.
As a cinematographer, Rick has shot hundreds of television programs, including well-known children’s series such as Shining Time Station and Polka Dot Door. Earlier in his career, he served as photographer for Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s Liberal Party.
More recently, his work has focused on virtual production technologies, exploring innovative creative workflows and emerging techniques in the field.
